Outdoor Ministries & Camps

The Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ has two wonderful church camps with a wide array of church camp offerings at two separate camps – Pilgrim Center on Green Lake, and Moon Beach on Moon Lake near St. Germain, Wisconsin.

Pilgrim Center on Green Lake

Pilgrim Center is primarily a Youth Camp during the summer. There are camps for all ages including Mom and Me, Dad and Me, and Grandparent and Me for kids who have finished Kindergarten and 1st grade along with their mom/dad/grandparent. There are half-week camps for kids who have finished 2nd or 3rd grades. Specialty camps like Sailing Camp, MADD (Music, Art, Drama, and Dance), Harry Potter camp and many more fill up the summer. Church camp means living in cabins, eating good food, meeting lots of kids from across the state and feeling closer to God. Kids rarely leave camp not feeling a little sadness that camp has now ended and they have to say goodbye to new friends.

Moon Beach Camp in St. Germain

Moon Beach is on Moon Lake near St. Germain. The first two weeks of summer are dedicated to Youth Camps and the rest of the summer is Family Camp. The Youth camps cover all ages and include a real favorite – MADD camp. Family camp is the absolutely most wonderful way to spend a week with family. Each family has a cabin (though some of the larger cabins are shared). Vespers might be held at vesper point as the sun sets. There are camp fires, water olympics, hiking, crafts, hanging out with your family and friends, and more. Wonderful family memories are created at Moon Beach each year.

Camp AweSum has two types of camps, one for youths only and one for families who have a a child with an ASD. Both camps are held at the same site, Moon Beach Camp, which is located at beautiful Moon Lake, in the majestic Northwoods near St. Germain, Wisconsin.

Each winter we have an All Church Winter Retreat at Moon Beach Camp. It’s a time to relax for many or stay busy for those who want to. The only expectation is that people show up for meals on time. There are many optional activities for those who are interested, including crafts, a talent show, hiking, skiing, sledding, ice fishing, etc. Sunday morning will include a meaningful Worship service. The All Church Winter Retreat will be a cozy time to get to know members from our church a whole lot better!
